    Baby, It's Cold Outside Furrrreal

Okay guys, so this year I have been a complete outerwear hogger. Well, every year pretty much since I've been able to dress myself. For a girl that loves just a simple go to black outfit, a statement coat makes putting your best foot forward a jiffy. Fur is trending but if I'm being honest it has been for the past 10 years at least- let's just consider it a classic already! Plus, did anyone ever regret wearing pink?

    ChiTown Christmas

Sweet home Chicago. There is nothing that I love more than being home around the holidays. I have so much fun seeing the people I grew up with and being surrounded constantly by family. This week I took a quick trip to the annual Christkindle Market- I couldn't resist those German treats ;) Here are just a couple shots from the night.

    Going With Greenery

Pantone just announced that the color of the year is Greenery! Last year, we were given two-Rose Quartz and Serenity- which were a powder pink and a calming blue/purple. Pantone Color Institute Director said, "Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize. Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and larger purpose."

I think we could all use a bit of that reassurance and rejuvenation. Below is a mood board I created to give you some ideas on incorporating this peaceful color into your wardrobe.

    GIFT GUIDE

It's that time of year again! The time when you want to give to everyone but aren't quite sure what to get. Here's a simple go-to list that is sure to have your friends and family thinking you're the best gifter out there.

Mom- the most important on the list because she deserves it all

    1. Candles- Light up her day with a fresh new scent. Catalonia Candle is an amazing candle company that makes these babies in their kitchen and donates some of their proceeds to save the bees. (My favorite scent from them is Limoncello ;)
                                                                  Cataloniacandle.com, $30
    2. Her favorite CD- Michael Buble and John Legend are all great go-to's. (If she's not a CD girl maybe consider making her a playlist of favorite songs you share)

                                                                                                                                                                              Target $17
    3. Wine and chocolate- Let's be honest, NO ONE re-gifts these two things.

    4. A massage/spa package- She's going to need a day to unwind!

                                                           Dependant on location, $40-$150

Dad- the most difficult on the list because he claims to already have all he needs

    1. Home Depot- Remember when he needed that hammer or toolbox last time you were at Home Depot? No? Well if you do, grab it. If you don't, he can always use a gift card here.

    2. Nice work clothes- Believe it or not your dad has to think about picking out a work outfit just as much as you do. Give him some more options! My dad is always looking at new dress shoes or slacks.

Ralph Lauren, Estate Rib Pullover, $50     Dockers, Macy's, $40         Ralph Lauren Button Up, Macy's, $70

    3. Headphones- For a dad that's always on the go, he'll need a pair of really sturdy headphones when it's time to travel or even time to relax.

                                                                          Best Buy, $100

Brother- the easiest to shop for because he'll tell you exactly what he wants

    1. Sports/concert tickets- Whether it be a band you two love or some hockey/basketball game, you'll not only cross him off the list but also get to spend quality time with him once the game rolls around.

    The Calm

Summertime and the living's easy, right guys? I don't know about you, but this summer has personally been an amazing reflection time. I learned so much more about myself and the ones I love that I think was necessary for me to be at peace going back to nyc. Life isn't always clear or laid out perfectly for us, but that's what makes everyday and every season so interesting.
While staying in this pure mindset, I've also been taking the time to dress simply. In the hot weather, it's easy to get caught up in doing the least, but the least doesn't have to mean plain or sloppy.
In honor of Raf joining the Calvin Klein powerhouse, I was inspired to pair my Calvin button down with denim shorts. Easy, simple- then accessorized with a vintage coin belt and bandana necktie. Throw on some wedges, and you're ready for any adventure your final summer days demand.
