    Uptown Get-Around

Surprise!!! More outerwear!! My camel coat finally came from my home closet thanks to my friend visiting this weekend. It's one of my warmest, comfiest blanket coats from Topshop via Nordstrom. I was set out for a full day of walking from school to MoMa and Central Park so I wanted to stay comfy- pairing a simple sweater with my Lulu leggings and Hunter Chelsea rain boots. I definitely lucked out on weather this weekend with it being in the 60's. Although I'm having fun being able to spend more time outside, I'm not quite ready to put away these layers.

Top Songs Of 2017 So Far

OKAY so we have been getting a lot of new music lately, and I couldn't be happier. I wanna share my faves. Ps... no genre discrimination here, but I do wanna hear what you listen to! You know that Jay Z meme of him bobbing his head while looking around? (c/o giphy.com) That's kinda me right now putting this together... Anyways, enjoy!

Ed Sheeran// How Would You Feel .. Melted my heart the first time and the second time and third..

Little Big Town// When Someone Stops Loving You .. 1 Country song is okay guys, stop freaking out and just listen to it.

    MisterWives// Machine .. Empower yo'self

Sampha// (No One Knows Me) Like the Piano

    Khalid// Saved .. Good vibes

Cold War Kids// Love Is Mystical

Henry Jamison// If You Could Read My Mind .. Amazing Gordon Lightfoot cover with an electro up-play

Kehlani// Personal (no artist link but on Spotify and AppleMusic) and CRZY

    Lana Del Rey "Love"

Uhhh, okay! Hey, Lana! She just dropped a single for the first time in TWO years so it was clear I had to do an emergency post. This is giving me typical vibes completely fitting her sad girl style, but this time it has a light at the end. I would compare it as a mix between Young And Beautiful & Taylor Swift's Wildest Dreams. A song that makes you feel a little less guilty about getting all dressed up for a night of nothing but hanging out. On repeat all day- or week..

    Listen now here!

    Ideas Are Scary

I started class this week, and I knew my favorite was going to be my Radio/TV Copywriting course. I've taken copywriting before and loved it so I thought this would be no different.
My professor in particular has lingered in the back of my mind for the past two days and prompted me to write this. He said this was going to be a semester where he will force ideas out of us; he didn't care about how far out we took an idea because it's easier for him to pull us back in then to push us forward.
Immediately I wanted to get outside and think. Make stuff up. Go. The inspirational slump that I had been dealing with suddenly died.
We watched this ad for GE TV, and I'm just going to go ahead and tell you guys the copy of it:
    "Ideas are scary
They come into this world ugly and messy
    Ideas are frightening
Because they threaten what is known
They are the natural born enemy of the way things are
Yes ideas are scary and messy and fragile
    But under the proper care
    They become something beautiful."
I have the video linked below so that you can listen to it, but basically I just wanted to send out a reminder that yes, it can be scary to have big, crazy ideas. It can be hard to express them and even harder to share them. The chance of rejection hurts and can cause us to bottle these amazing opportunities inside of us until they disintegrate and we move on.
This year and every year after that, let's change that instinct. Think every day until you perfect your idea. Take initiative. Make these plans so big that you have infinite directions to run in. Lastly, write them down!! A worker at the PĂ©rez Art Museum told me that was the key to ever accomplishing anything, and it's true! You'll remember more, and it feel pretty stinkin' good to be able to cross things off that to do list.
